The score remained that way until New Jersey captain Zach Parise scored a power- play goal just 66 seconds into overtime to lift the to the 2-1 win at Rexall Place.

 

"We came back from 1-0 in the third. It's not like we had a 3-1 lead and gave it up," said Edmonton's Taylor Hall, who had an assist. "When you're losing going into the third and you come out with a point, it's not always a bad thing."

 

Tonight marks the first of four scheduled meetings between the Ducks and Oilers this season. Anaheim lost the opener of last year's season series before taking three straight from the Oilers, including a pair of victories in Edmonton. The Ducks have won eight of nine overall in this series and seven straight at Rexall Place.

 

The Maple Leafs have won two of three against the Sabres this year and have also taken five of six overall in this series. However, Toronto has been defeated in eight of the last nine encounters in Buffalo and the Sabres recorded a 5-4 home win over the Leafs on Dec. 16.

 

James Reimer entered the season as the team's No. 1 goaltender, but Gustavsson has forced Toronto head coach Ron Wilson to alter that dynamic recently.
