Roland Thatcher (71), Nationwide Tour money leader Johnson Wagner (69), Brendon de Jonge (69), John Merrick (69) and first-round co-leader Craig Lile (73) are knotted in third place at five-under-par 139.

Stadler began on the back nine Friday and broke into red figures with a birdie at the par-five 11th. He added birdies at the 14th and 17th holes to make the turn at three-under 33.

On the second nine, Stadler reached five-under par for the championship with a birdie at the second. He recorded birdies at the par-five sixth and the par- four eighth to move into the lead.

But it meant a lot for Stadler to play well this week, because he has not played well lately. After his win in Boise, Stadler missed the cut in his last two starts.

"I really didn't know what to expect," acknowledged Stadler. "I wasn't hitting it very good coming in. Thankfully, it's kind of like a light switch for me. It's either good or bad."

"I'd rather him learn that here as opposed to going out on the regular tour and costing me the U.S. Open or something," said Bowden, who is second on the money list and also going to the PGA Tour in 2007. "We took it on the chin as a team right there."

Chonburi, Thailand (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Far from home, Nicole Castrale is nearing her first LPGA win. Castrale, a Southern California native, fired a four-under 68 on Saturday to take a two-shot lead over Hee-Won Han heading into the final round of the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Meanwhile, Castrale is leading for the first time heading into the final round.

Castrale, 27, turned professional in 2001 but hasn't played much on the LPGA Tour. She won back-to-back tournaments on the Futures Tour in 2005 and finished fourth on the money list to earn her exempt status for this year's LPGA season.

"I pretty much have stuck to the same game plan [this year] and I felt like sooner or later things would come together," said Castrale. "Hopefully this is the week that it all comes together."

Castrale was as low as 13-under after draining a 15-foot birdie putt at the 12th, but she stumbled to a pair of tough bogeys at 13 and 16.

"The back nine definitely got windy, but I still think I played pretty good," said Castrale. "I am definitely happy with the outcome.

"(Tomorrow) I am pretty much going to stick to the same game plan. I feel like I'm playing pretty well right now. I am just going to go back to trying to execute shots and hit fairways and greens and hopefully make the putts from there."
